Problem: Out of the box the cellular car alarm can send mere SMS statuses to a registered phone number. The UX appeared to be poor and not enought. So, the vendor decided to develop a comfortable mobile application that would also be independed of the GSM-roaming so that the car owner could manage his/her car from any place worldwide.
Solution: All the commands and statuses supported by the alarm were developed in the user mobile application: the real time vehicle location on an online map, alerts on breaking speed limits, tilt and tow events, low battery and battery cut off status, preventing ingition back in case of theft attempt, arming and disarming the system, ignition on/off and vehicle driving, parking. Unit to Server communication is delivered by GPRS or SMS channel.
